As this would entail a major effort to establish common statistical procedures and criteria between countries, the pilot project attempted to assess the potential of using informatics techniques for standardizing a significant set of regional transport statistics variables.The pilot phase involved specialized transport statistics institutes from Bolivia, Brazil and Chile — the countries chosen to participate in the initial stage of the project.
