Sumario:The fifth meeting of the Caribbean Development Roundtable (CDR) was co-hosted by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Government of Saint Lucia. The central theme of this meeting of the CDR was Promoting climate resilience and sustainable economic growth in the Caribbean. The discussions focussed on four key thematic areas: 1) Implementing the ECLAC debt swap initiative; 2) Financing green investment for resilience building and structural transformation in the Caribbean; 3) Promoting fiscal responsibility and financial management within the context of the region’s high debt burden; and 4) Addressing the vulnerability of Caribbean economies caused by de-risking and challenges to the off-shore financial sector. Arising from the overall discussions a number of observations and recommendations were made.
