The central theme of this meeting of the CDR was Promoting climate resilience and sustainable economic growth in the Caribbean. The discussions focussed on four key thematic areas: 1) Implementing the ECLAC debt swap initiative; 2) Financing green investment for resilience building and structural transformation in the Caribbean; 3) Promoting fiscal responsibility and financial management within the context of the region’s high debt burden; and 4) Addressing the vulnerability of Caribbean economies caused by de-risking and challenges to the off-shore financial sector.
