Sumario:Outlines the development of planning in the Netherlands Antilles, from an emphasis on project preparation and coordination in connection with Dutch development aid, to the inclination towards macro-planning on a decentralized level. Indicates trends in planning systems for Curaçao and Aruba: the former involves sectoral plans in different government departments and the co-ordination of planning, project preparation and implementation by planning units; the latter attempts to formulate basic points of departure and common priorities and co-ordinate planning activities. Stresses that ongoing communication and feedback and permanent theoretical and practical training of manpower are crucial to the effectiveness of Curaçao's system.
