Sumario:This thesis seeks to undergo a diagnosis of the present state of environmental education in the Spanish Autonomous Community of Extremadura. In doing so, this study will analyse the developmental scope of those environmental education strategies which favour the growth of more environmentally-friendly attitudes and spaces. The critica apparatus used in this research is that being currently considered by researchers in several countries as we as in many Spanish autonomous communities. This study sets out to examine present-day and recent research by means of contrasting former theories with the critical model used here. Facing the reality of sustainable development, but after identifying the different informants of the questionnaires used and the most significant achievements in Extremadura environmental education, by means of its differing mediators and facilities, and the more real potential, the keys to the peremptory Extremadura Strategy for Environmental Education are accordingly revealed.
