Sumario: | In this work, we have developed a stress model which could determine cellular
damage and hormonal changes due to different kinds of physical activity, in untrained
and in trained men. Results obtained suggest how high intensity activities generate
an imbalance between free radical production and human body antioxidant response,
in addition to changes in hormonal levels. Steady state aerobic activities, in spite of
increasing reactive oxygen species (ROS), they provoke an antioxidant response which
is able to offset ROS without any oxidative cellular damage. In relation to hormonal
levels, there is a balance between catabolic/anabolic hormones, so physical stress is
lower. |
