Sumario: | The study entitled Effect of imagery process in implementing free throw basketball at different levels of physiological arousal in elementary students is a product of interest in collaborating with the teaching-learning process for the student. This is an area in which it seeks to develop concepts, principles, strategies and tactics that can be applied in learning and development of physical activity in students using the imagery process. Given this, the researcher found it appropriate to investigate under the following problem: What is the effect of imagery in the process of implementation performance basketball free throw sixth graders in elementary school in levels of physiological arousal at rest and intermediate? For this purpose, it was used as the basis bioinformational Lang Theory (1977), which states that an image is stored organized in the brain specifically proportions of stimulus and response ratios, and Hypothesis Inverted U-Yarkes- Dodson (1908), which is that increasing activation a progressive increase in performance occurs until an optimum point, which overcome any increase in the activation state results in a drop in performance. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of imagery in the process of implementation performance basketball free throw in sixth grade students of an elementary level of physiological arousal at rest and intermediate school. We investigated a population of 36 sixth graders of an elementary school Ponce School District Department of Education of Puerto Rico. Sampling was conducted with 32 students, divided into 4 groups, which were divided into two control groups and two experimental groups of 8 students each, randomly chosen. The results were analyzed by analysis of variance of two factors (ANOVA) and t test. The results revealed no significant difference compared to the free throw basketball among sixth graders of elementary school who used the imagery process and those who did not use the imagery process at the level of physiological arousal at rest and in between. Given this, the researcher presented as a guide to DEPR recommendation to incorporate the imagery process as part of the curriculum expectations of the Physical Education program DEPR . Thus it was fulfilled the purpose of providing information to DEPR scientific basis for strengthening and improving the teaching and learning processes in the performance of core skills used in class and to optimize the performance of students. |
