This research has tried to analyze the different phases constructions of the Sassari cathedral and in particular the realization of the façade between the end of the seventeenth century and the beginning of the eighteenth century. This wide arch chronological framework has allowed for a broader reflection on the changes of language and various architectural projects on the island through the complex political and economic conditions that followed centuries.
We have analyzed the transformations carried out between the 15th and XVI, as much of the convents as of the dioceses and parochial churches, passing through those that originated under the rule of Philip II. Subsequently, we have devoted part of the work to the study of changes that took place in the 17th century Sardinian architecture, confronting the cathedral of Sassari with other buildings made contemporaneously in territory. We have suggested that the cathedral of Sassari played a role important that has allowed us to build a picture as complete as possible on the Sardinian panorama, linking it to other territories of the Mediterranean.
Finally, we have devoted an in-depth analysis to the the facade of the cathedral of Sassari, which offers a particular interest in as for structural, formal and decorative solutions that were adopted, above all, because it leads to reflection on the origin and assimilation of models from the outside in the regional context. |

Este amplio arco cronológico ha permitido elaborar una reflexión más amplia sobre los cambios de lenguaje y diversos proyectos arquitectónicos en la isla a través de las complejas condiciones políticas y económicas que se sucedieron a lo largo de los siglos. Hemos analizado las transformaciones realizadas entre los siglos XV y XVI, tanto de los conventos como de las diócesis e iglesias parroquiales, pasando por aquellas que se originaron bajo el gobierno de Felipe II. Posteriormente, hemos dedicado una parte del trabajo al estudio de los cambios que se produjeron en la arquitectura sarda del siglo XVII, confrontando la catedral de Sassari con otros edificios realizados contemporáneamente en territorio insular. Hemos sugerido que la catedral de Sassari jugó un papel importante que nos ha permitido construir un cuadro lo más completo posible sobre el panorama sardo, relacionándolo a la vez con otros territorios del Mediterráneo. Finalmente, hemos dedicado un análisis en profundidad a la realización de la fachada de la catedral de Sassari, que ofrece un particular interés en cuanto a soluciones estructurales, formales y decorativas que se adoptaron, sobre todo, porque lleva a la reflexión sobre la proveniencia y asimilación de modelos del exterior en el contexto regional.Questo lavoro di ricerca vuole analizzare le differenti fasi costruttive della cattedrale di Sassari e, in particolare, la realizzazione della facciata, eretta tra la fine del XVII secolo e il principio del XVIII secolo. Questo ampio arco cronologico ha permesso di elaborare una riflessione più ampia sui cambiamenti di linguaggio e sulle diverse iniziative architettoniche intraprese nell’Isola, in relazione alle complesse condizioni politiche e economiche che caratterizzarono la Sardegna nel corso dei secoli oggetto di inadagine. Abbiamo analizzato le trasformazioni realizzate tra il XV e il XVI secolo, sia nei conventi che nelle chiese parrocchiali e cattedrali dell’Isola, includendo V anche le iniziative costruttive promosse sotto il governo di Filippo II. Una parte del lavoro è stata inoltre dedicata allo studio dei cambiamenti che si produssero nell’architettura sarda del XVII secolo, operando un confronto tra la cattedrale di Sassari e altri edifici realizzati contemporaneamente nel territorio dell’Isola. Ne è emerso che la cattedrale di Sassari giocò un ruolo importante che ha permesso di costruire un quadro complesso del panorama sardo, ponendolo in relazione di volta in volta con altri territori del Mediterraneo.
