Glacial mode shift of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation by warming over the Southern Ocean
Abrupt northern hemisphere warming caused by strengthening of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation may have been triggered by warming over the Southern Ocean, according to numerical simulations with a sea-ice coupled ocean general circulation model.
