Sumario:In the modern society, about twenty percent of the population has problems with eyesight. As a result of the ageing process, it is expected that till the year 2020, the problem of visual impairment will be experienced by an increasing number of people. There is a relationship between impaired vision in old age and reduced quality of life and increased risk of dangerous situations in the kitchen. This paper is an attempt to meet and describe the desires and needs of people with visual impairment. The presented results of the survey research conducted among people with sight problems are the basis for the elaboration of design concepts for kitchen furniture. This paper describes the selected solutions of kitchen furniture designed for people with visual impairment to increase their comfort of living.
