Sumario:The aim of this research is to examine the social exclusion risk resulting from physiological, biological, psychological, sociological and economic incapability’s due to senility experienced by the elders who are an indispensable and essential group of the society as well as how this condition affects their remaining life processes. Senility which is an inevitable result of human life has been seen as a social problem in all periods of history. Another problem is perception of being pushed into loneliness and not being able to commune with social environment. The research is a quantitative study, and an approach based on single measuring with scanning model was used. In the research, questionnaire form consisting of 30 questions was applied with random sample method to the sample population consisting of 108 elders who live in Province of İstanbul County of Eyüp and who were randomly selected with single screening. Before preparing the questions, some hypotheses were formed based on some assumptions. In collection of the data for proving these hypotheses, questionnaire form including questions on demographic structure of the elders, senility period problems, their being perceived states by the society, areas of social activity and interest, life expectations and social exclusion perceptions was used. The data obtained from field researches were analyzed with SPSS 16.0 statistics package program. In this study, Pearson's chi-square test which measures whether there is a significant relationship or not between dependent and independent variables was preferred and frequencies were evaluated.
