The application of porous microspheres has become a feasible way to address existing problems. In this essay, we give a brief introduction of the porous microsphere, its characteristics, preparation methods, applications, and a brief summary of existing problems and research tendencies. Keywords: pore, porosity, porogen, suspension polymerization, seed swelling, pulmonary drug delivery, tissue regeneration
