The objective of this research is to analyze the development of emotional deixis to determine different forms of its expression. The main methods used in the research were document analysis, hypothetical-deductive and analytic-synthetic. The research shows the peculiarities of emotional deixis, being a metaphorical development of deictic forms that express the emotional and psychological distance and closeness between the speaker and the referent. The role of this type of deixis for communication is analyzed and the various characteristics of its means of expression are systematically revealed and studied on the basis of specific linguistic material. The results are discussed with relevant literature and recommendations are provided for future research and practice.
