For that we conducted a literature search, from which a dialogue was established between Jacques Lambert¿s the theory of developmentalism and theoretical contribution of some authors of urban sociology.The aim was both to understand how the concepts of urban sociology appear in the theory of Lambert and compare the discussion raised by this author about the obstacles of Brazilian development, in the 50s, which is dualism rural / urban, with recent studies of authors who dedicated to the urban theme in urban Brazil, as for example Luiz Cezar Q.
