Sumario:The article addresses the issue of the relationship between cooperation networks of smaller firms and territory in the context of uncertainties, difficulties, but also of market opportunities arising from economic globalization. The aim was to analyze the organizational and territorial dimension present in the process of establishment and operation of a given cooperative enterprise network, and express in speeches and in strategic and political articulations that their members nodes develop the territory in which they operate. To do so, was analyzed the case of Rede Casanova, founded in 2003, and that by 2012, was recognized as the largest network of cooperation in the construction of the Southern Brazil in number of stores associated materials segment. The study was qualitative and exploratory, involved conducting a literature review, desk research, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of primary data on the process of formation and functioning of the Association Rede Casanova. The analysis of the development of Rede Casanova allows to identify the presence of a foundational discourse, contradictory and permanent cooperation among its constituent node (companies), the existence in its service territory, the different strategies of action ranging from greater horizontal cooperation between nodes, the greater centralization and concentration of power by the central node (headquarters), the decisions regarding the choice of new members and the mode of operation and performance of the network in the market, resulting in significant changes in the your territorial organization.
