| Sumario: | Tuberculosis is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Prevalence of active tuberculosis cases among home and close contacts is variable in different studies. The highest rate of developing tuberculosis is reported during the fi rst year after the diagnosis of index case. A higher risk for developing disease is observed in kids and HIV positive persons. Concordance of drug sensibility resistence tests between index and secondary tuberculosis cases varies considerably in the published studies. |
