Coordination assembly of 2D ordered organic metal chalcogenides with widely tunable electronic band gaps

Here, the authors report a new class of 2D materials with inorganic metal chalcogenide layers covered by long-range ordered organic groups. The range of modulation on their band gaps and electrical conductivities are two times and 7 orders of magnitude better than the highest values reported so far.
