Renan points out that the Apostls Saint Paul and Saint Barnaba endeavoured to propagate the christian belief in Minor Asia during their four missionary travels. He speakes of the antique settlement centers located in the actual territories of Turkey where historical events important for the history of Christianity had occured and are located a great number of historical monuments considered as sacred for the christians. Lystra/Hatunsaray became one of the places visited by Saint Paul. Minor Asia became mother’s bosom for Saint Paul escaped from the oppressions to which he was exposed from Jerusalem to Rome. Thanks to his missionary travels Saint Paul had established the first christian churches in the territories of actual Turkey. In his work, Renan exposed the religious activities of Saint Paul in many antique cities and moreover in Lystra/Hatunsaray in Minor Asia.
