Sumario: | The construction of the terminal company Cargill Agrícola S.A. and the possibility of paving the BR- 163 highway were determining factors for attracting many producers in the Midwest and South of Brazil to Santarém and Belterra, Pará, which contributed to a rapid change in the production base of grain production along the BR-163 highway through the use of appropriate technologies. Therefore, the research aims to analyze the competitiveness of companies in the Local Productive Arrangement Grain these municipalities considering its features and characteristics, in order to respond to these companies have built competitive advantages to the arrangement. Data were obtained through a structured questionnaire applied to 20 grain producers and the analysis was developed using multivariate statistics, it is the factor analysis and the clusters. From the factor analysis, we built a Competitive Performance Index, ranking the companies surveyed as their level of competitiveness. The results show that over 50% of the companies are not competitive, and Cluster analysis, only 15% of companies were identified as “Business-intensive innovations and higher economic returns”. It was concluded that the companies have not been able to be competitive in order to create competitive advantages grains arrangement in Santarém and Belterra. |
