As a result of the fact that using internet and playing computer games are an indispensable factor in the lives of children and young people. Playing computer games enable them to enter in an imaginary world, which is constructed parallel to the real world. Then they begin searching this imaginary world inside the real world. However, they aren’t able to distinguish between the real and imaginary world because they are addicted to this imaginary and magical world of computer games. They are removing over and over again both their real lives and identities. Additionally, overconsumption of using internet and playing computer games have positive and negative effects on educational, social and daily life. The most important risks of these harmful effects are internet and computer games addiction, violence, a loss of identity and a lack of communication. Diagnostic and therapeutic methods of addictions to internet and computer games play a big role to prevent these harmful effects. Contemporary German literature of the late 20th and early 21st centuries doesn’t abstract itself from these progresses and central characters in the novel entitled “Nevena” of German author Burkhard Spinnen are handled in context of these mentioned problems.Dudu UYSALFırat Universityarticlecomputer gameschildren and young peopleaddictionviolenceidentitySocial SciencesHSocial sciences (General)H1-99DEENFRTRJournal of Academic Social Science Studies , Vol 10, Iss 56, Pp 177-200 (2019)
