Sumario:This article aims to discuss the logic and epistemology steeped in knowledge sharing within the framework of South-South cooperation, and discuss the effectiveness of Brazilian policy of cooperation for local development in recipient countries. It is a literature search based on authors who discuss international cooperation for the development and sharing of knowledge as a condition for development. The disputes involved and ideologies espoused can possible reflections on the Brazilian experience. The results showed that the logic of international cooperation follows the epistemic conception, West development and hegemonic. However, some authors point to the emergence of a new logic, based on South-South cooperation, in which direction development would take into account the social, the historical, cultural, environmental, specific territories in the reality of interaction. Given the Brazilian experience, although we cannot say the logic followed by the country in international cooperation projects and not its effectiveness in relation to the development of recipient countries.
