Sumario:The author of the article makes an attempt to determine the role of the ideological component in the unfolding scientific discussion in the context of the conceptualization of a power state from the political standpoint. Using the methods of discourse analysis and comparative approach, he substantiates the conclusions that the large-scale pluralism of interpretations of a power state as a public phenomenon within the framework of socio-political discourse is due, first of all, to the ideological positions of the authors. Secondly, the ideological differences of reasoning in favor of a power state conceal the danger of deviating from the discussion of a power state in the politicalmanipulative side in favor of the existing socio-political status quo; Finally, thirdly, the concentration of the expert-scientific community and the public on ideological differences over a power state is hampered by an objective scientific analysis of the foundations and effectiveness of a modern power state in modern conditions.
