The paper deals with the audiovisual translation in the context of a multilingual and multicultural film. The analysis is based on a Russian film about the Polish singer Anna German (Anna German. Mystery of the White Angel) and concerns the use of Russian, Polish, Italian and English languages. The author presents the Russian text as both the source and the target plane of the film, and – goes on to discuss the possibilities, potential methods and strategies of translation.
