Over impressed by the myth of Rimbaud forged by the first translators, obfuscated by the “alchemy of the verb” of such a teenager, as a symbol of beauty and eternal revolt, later translators succumbed in their great numbers “to the triumph of the unintelligible and chaos" and opted for an interpretation to their own measure.
