The percentage of women beneficiaries is expressive, since they are the holders for the receipt. With this in mind, this research was carried out in the municipality of Babaçulândia (TO), at Acampamento Ilha Verde, aiming at raising the effects of the Bolsa Família Program on the daily life of the women of this Camp, focusing on gender relations and empowerment. Methodologically, Oral History was used, through history narrated through the interview technique. As a result of the study, women reported using the benefit for purchasing food, clothing and medicines. In the interviews, none of the women reported having participated in complementary programs linked to Bolsa Família, such as the Programa Bolsa Família or the Programa Nacional de Acesso ao Ensino Técnico e Emprego (Pronatec). From the discussions, and through the women’s narratives, it was noticed that the Bolsa Família Program did not provoke changes in the daily life of the Ilha Verde Camp families, since women reproduce gender relations, such as the difficulty of making decisions about the means Production, acceptance of the role of caregiver, identification as the main responsible for compliance with the conditionalities of the Programa Bolsa Família, among others.Hareli Fernanda Garcia CecchinTemis Gomes ParenteUniversidade Regional do Noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sularticlegenderempowermentbolsa família programEconomic growth, development, planningHD72-88PTDesenvolvimento em Questão, Vol 16, Iss 43 (2018)
