Sumario:The article is devoted to topical issues of cooperation between the state and civil society in countering extremism in modern Russia. The authors reveal the concept, the signs of political extremism, as well as the main approaches to the understanding of its content. Provides and clarifies the typology of civil society institutions that promote the state policy of counteraction to extremism in the Russian Federation. In the article the authors point to the role of public associations and organizations in the fight against extremist manifestations, determines the priorities of their cooperation with public authorities. Identified the content of the problems arising in the process of interaction between public associations and state management in the area of countering political extremism. Provides the author’s recommendations for improving the support of civil society institutions contributing to the public authorities in the fight against extremism.
