A case of COVID‐19 with superficial thrombophlebitis caused by an indwelling peripheral venous catheter

Abstract A local hypercoagulable state caused by SARS‐CoV‐2 and an indwelling peripheral venous catheter can lead to superficial thrombophlebitis. If the venous catheter is no longer needed during treatment for COVID‐19 it should be removed promptly.
