Sumario:The purpose of the study is to evaluate the interaction between the school principal and the guidance counselor in conducting counseling services. This research that made for determining the quality of guidance counselors interaction with school principal by way of the opinions of guidance counselors is qualitative research model. In this research, the sample method is used and research group of the study is consists of ten guidance counselors five of them work public elementary and another five of them work high schools in Konya city center in the academic year of 2009-2010. As a data collection tool a semi-structured interview form, was developed by the researchers and consists of 8 questions, was used. The data obtained were analyzed using content analysis method. After making content analysis, seven specific concepts were decided by way of gathering similar concept and themes in the same group. The research data are interpreted within the framework of these themes. According to result of the research, guidance counselors stated that school principals attached adequate importance to counseling services, some guidance counselors said that “they do attach importance but this is on a discourse level only”. All of the guidance counselors said that principals provided the necessary physical environment for counseling services. Guidance counselors said that they were able to establish sufficient communication with principals but one guidance counselor stated that he could not establish sufficient communication. Most of the guidance counselors stated that principals did not interfere in their work whereas some of them said that there was some interference on the part of principals. Guidance counselors pointed out that principals evaluated them objectively. However, some guidance counselors said that they did not evaluate objectively. Guidance counselors said that principals treated them differently from the other teachers and in fact viewed them as if they were administrators. However, one guidance counselor stated that he did not notice a difference in treatment. Moreover, they pointed out that principals did not ask them anything outside of their duty, but some stated that they demanded certain things in the form of request and aid. A few guidance counselors also said that principals demanded things outside of their duty.
