We analyze its introduction in the schools by relating the emergence of sociology as a regular subject at schools and the historical context, demands and challenges. In this regard, we highlight three levels of study: (a) the relation between state and society; (b) the social agents that claim its institutionalization; (c) the conditions of social circulation and production of sociological knowledge.
