The concept of violence against women evaluated in this structure confronts as one of common and important social problems in all over the world and our country. Violence against the female body is a visual representation of physical violence, but sometimes it can be confronted in the form of positioning the female body as a consumption object. Aim of this study is to discuss The reflection of the types of violence against women on contemporary Turkish painting art. In additon, the socio-economic reasons for this situation will be examined.This research is qualitative and carried out in a descriptive way. The data are collected by examining the literature.In the light of the information collected, paintings (8 artworks) have been analysed by using the homogeneous sampling method. Selected Works; Thanks giving Moral, Ismet Dogan, Kezban Arca Batıbeki, Nil Yalter, Huri Kiris and Nur Koçak belong to artists. n an important part of the rapidly-spreading, easily perceived contemporary art products with the influence of mass media; These attitudes towards women have also lifted the right of choice in art at the same time and are imposed on individuals like popular culture. This situation, in addition to the occurrence of psychological violence towards women, is also a reaction to violence as a trigger. New dynamics in artistic production and determinants of artistic consumption are also sources of this violence.The outcome of our study establishes that various forms of violence against women are reflected in works of art. Artists can choose violence against women as a subject and, as a result, artists and spectators collude in this violence. Some suggestions have been presented according to the outcome of the research.
