In the study also has been investigated whether the self perception of the families differed significantly according to the type of social security and variable of gender. The working group of the study was composed of totally 224 families receiving donation from Uskudar municipality in Istanbul in 2016. 172 of them are female (76.8%), and 52 of them are male (23.2%). Data was gathered from each participant using a Personal İnformation Form, Social Comparison Scale (SCS) and Perceived Social Support. For data analyses were used SPSS for WİNDOWS. Differences between groups were tested by t-test and one way anova with Bonferroni post hoc multiple comparison test. For the relationships among all variables were tested by Pearson’s correlation. In study, low level positive correlation has been found between self perception and social support from a friend, sub scale of perceived social support. Moreover, it has been identified that self perception differs significantly according to the types of social security. The differentiation has been observed between having the Universal Health Insurance and having Social Insurance Institution and between having the Universal Health Insurance and having no guarantees. There is not significant correlation between gender and level of the self perception.
