| Sumario: | International university rankings have become a tool in the competition to attract students, funding and cooperation partners. This study examines the peculiarities of the most popular international rankings and Moldovan presence therein, in regional and global context. Both places in rankings and methodology were investigated based on public information of offi cial web sites. There is a low visibility of Moldovan universities, mainly due to a poor performance in research and development.
