In this study, developed at the Municipal School Odilon de Andrade in the"Complexo do Alemão" the art was associated with environmental education. Students of the 7th and 8thschool years participated in the workshops held twice a week, one for each class, between August and November 2015. The study adopted a diverse pedagogical strategy covering: group dynamics, reading and interpreting texts on environment and environmental preservation; discussions about the history of urbanization of the city of Rio de Janeiro; landscape photos show the city before and after the environmental impacts; drawing classes; painting classes; choice and study of landscapes by students; preparationof texts on the paintings made. The results showed that the workshops were well accepted by the students.
