Sumario:In specialized literature different trends of economic research and theories formed within the frames of these trends would compete and sometimes even eliminate each other. In reality they supplement each other by providing an opportunity to understand the behavior of the object or the process. Different approaches in proposed theories help us analyze deeply and comprehensively the object or the process, which is usually impossible within the frames of one theoretical concept. The article studies economic character of business-ecosystems on the basis of methodological instruments of the theory of market controversy. Business-ecosystems represent inter-sectoral structures, which from time to time cross market borders, but at the same time behavior of structural elements or participants of the business-ecosystem follow certain economic rules that cannot be explained by instruments of other theoretical provisions. The structure of business-ecosystem depends on numerous factors: the choice between narrow specialization and diversification; the use of R&D and innovation to attain the set goals; barriers at the entrance and exit of the business-ecosystem. Versatile consideration of the business-ecosystem is an important problem as it allows us to identify different characteristics typical of such structures.
