Sumario:The effectiveness in organizations and organizational climate which is regarded as an important precursor of efficiency has an important place in terms of universities where science is produced and universal education is realized. The sustainability of scientific studies in a more productive way and the improvement of the quality of education can be evaluated among the possible consequences of a positive organizational climate. It is clear that this result will provide positive contributions to the collective use of the scientific studies that are among the basic aims of the universities. At this point, it is important to bring out the things to do in terms of determining organizational climates and making it more positive in universities. The aim of this study is to determine the organizational climate that perceived by academic and administrative staff at Ondokuz Mayıs University. In this context, survey technique was applied to 243 participants which consisting of 111 academic and 132 administrative personnel working at Ondokuz Mayıs University between 1st of June and 7th of July in 2016. The questionnaire consists of two parts. The first part of the questionnaire included demographic information of the participants. In the second part of questionnaire, there are 39 items to determine the perceptions of the participants about the organizational climate. As a result of the analysis of the obtained data, it was determined that the mean value of each constituent of the organizational climate is 3 and below. As a result of the analysis of whether the perceptions of organizational climate differed according to the demographic characteristics of the participants, significant differences were determined only according to the positions of the cadres. According to these findings, it is seen that the perceptions of the organizational climate of the academic staff are lower than the administrative personnel. By considering these results, some suggestions were developed for universities through baseline of Ondokuz Mayıs University in order to create a more positive organizational climate.
