Sumario:This article discusses the issue of decapitation of the warprisoners, who were captu-red on the battle ground by some extremist groups in recent times. Before discussing the main issue, the article provides an introduction by discussing the status of warprisoners and slaves before and during the period of Islam. The legitimization of killing enemy warprisoners in Islamic thought is also provided. While the last paragraph discuss the issue of decapitation of the warprisoners as it is discussed in Mesâil min fıkh el-cihad (The Jihad Jurisprudence Issues) by Abdullah Al-Muhajer who is considered as one of the important global Salafi Jihadi scholar and who have high profile among the current Jihadi schools. The paper discusses the eviden-ces which are provided by Al-Muhajer in his book from Quran and Hadith and found that Al-Muhajer uses the Quranic verses and Hadith partially to reache to the meanings that he would like to see, without looking to the right context and general meaning of the text. Al-Muhajir misinterprets the expressions like ‘decapitation’ and ‘I came to you with cutting pu-nishment’ which stated in the verses of the Qur’an and in the Hadith. Because he uses these expressions without proper context, and has mistaken. Therefore, such mistakes, misinterpre-tations and applications damage the peaceful immage of Islam.
