| Résumé: | This study aims to analyze the strategic position of the federal government in power generation in the state of Pará, between 2014 and 2017 In Pará, it is observed that the strategic actions taken by the Brazilian government, increasingly attach to state the role of hydro power supplier. In this perspective, this research contributed to an in-depth view of the ability of these strategic actions in the electricity generation sector must promote development opportunities in Pará state. In the methodology of this study was first carried out a bibliographical and documentary research that identified strategic actions of the federal government by the electricity generation sector in Pará and ranked based on their possible contributions to the promotion of technological structures and competitive mechanisms in Pará. then through the SWOT matrix tool, we performed a review of these strategic actions, in order to identify their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The investigation concluded that the strategic actions of the federal government held in Pará electricity sector, in the analyzed period, were not able to generate competitive mechanisms and technological structures promoting improvements in the standard of living. |
