| Sumario: | This article describes the demographic situation in Irkutsk region for the last 50 years. Special attention is paid to the analysis of changes in population of the Irkutsk region with the concept of demographic waves. We have identified 4 stages on the basis of data analysis on natality and mortality оf population in Irkutsk region and dynamics of population changes since 1960. The first stage covers the period from 1960 to 1978; the second stage - from 1979 to 1989; the third stage - from 1990 to 2000; and the fourth stage - from 2001 to the present time. |
