One of these projects was the Irrigated Perimeters, which aimed to redistribute water from large rivers to the backlands, transforming backlanders in small and medium entrepreneurs and expand agribusiness. This study aimed to diagnose if sustainability, from the perspective of the Triple Bottom Line as proposed by Elkington (2012), was achieved in the Irrigated Perimeters implemented in Jaguaribe-Apodi, Morada Nova and Tabuleiros de Russas, in the Ceará semiarid region.
