Sumario:The goal of this study is to analyze College of Education students’ memories related to education. The previous studies generally focused on the views and memories of teachers, administrators, and parents. In order to gather data, the prospective teachers were asked to write about their educational memories. A qualitative method was used in this study to investigate future teachers’ memories. The sample of the study was consisted of 245 students at Gazi Education Faculty. Out of 245 students 195 of them were female and 50 of them were male. The analyses of the memories showed that most of the memories were about teacher behaviors and attitudes. Positive characteristics of teacher behaviors were analyzed in terms of knowledge about academic domain, motivating students, behavior management, teaching approaches, professional ethics, and teaching values. Negative characteristics were investigated in terms of insufficient subject matter knowledge, classroom management problems, creating stressful classroom environment, and physical and verbal punishment. The results of the study showed that positive characteristics of teacher behaviors were motivating students, behavior management, and subject matter knowledge; negative characteristics were issues related to professional ethics, using punishment inappropriately, problems in classroom management, and insufficient subject matter knowledge. The theoretical and practical implications of the results are discussed.
