| Résumé: | The process of patrimonialization of the cultural landscape of Rio de Janeiro consti- tutes an important political intervention strategy to boost economic development and urban sustainability. It arises from urban policies of landscape enhancement linked to tourism and the reorganization of public spaces with the objective of promoting the international recomposition of the identity and urban image of Rio. The methodology consisted of examination of dossiers and official documents, direct observation and use of photographs to apprehend socio-spatial and landscape changes. The results showed that the orientation of interventions around tourism practices and cultural consumption has stimulated gentrification, the economic value of the cultural landscape and spaces on what I call carioca counter-landscapes, given the adjustment of strategic plans for marketing orientation. |
