Sumario:There is a close, complex relationship between documentation as a scientific discipline and information and communication science. It has therefore become necessary to teach students, as part of their university training, about information and documentation and how to use various documentary sources. The author looks at how information and documentation is taught in university‑level information and communication science programs in the Arab world, particularly the nature and objectives of these courses and the role they play in university studies and journalism.
