The purpose of the article is to reveal the possibilities and aspects of the formation of the information competence of the teacher. The authors of the article analyzed the research devoted to the formation of information competence. The concept of "information competence of a teacher of professional training", its structure and composition is defined. The levels of formation of the components of information competence and the levels of formation of the information competence of the teacher of professional training in general are disclosed. It was revealed that information competence occupies a special position in the formation of general, cultural, personal and professional competencies of teachers. The information competence is defined by the ability of a specialist to work with information, information and digital technologies, information resources, interactive and multimedia equipment and to apply innovative forms and methods of organizing the educational process. Information competence of a teacher of professional training is the ability of a specialist to work with various types of information, information technologies and resources, as well as to optimally select their use in training sessions for the most effective passage of the educational process and improving the learning outcomes of students. The components of the teacher's information competence are identified: activity-based, motivational, and cognitive.
