The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of peer educational program on multiple sclerosis patient’s self-efficacy referred to Farshchian hospital and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Hamadan City in 2015. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 80 Patients with multiple sclerosis were selected with convenience sampling and randomly allocated to control and experimental groups. Four sessions, each 60 minutes, was performed twice a week. After one month after the last training session, self-questionnaires were completed by both experimental and control groups. Data were collected from both groups using the Sherer General Self-Efficacy Questionnaire. Data were analyzed with SPSS/16 using descriptive statistics, independent t and paired t tests. Results: There was a significant difference between the mean scores of self-efficacy in the experimental group. The difference was not significant in the control group. There were no significant differences between the mean scores of self-efficacy of experimental and control groups before and after the intervention. Conclusions: Peer education methods could increase the level of efficacy in patients with multiple sclerosis. This method could be used as a valuable strategy to improve the treatment and control of physical and psychological effects and increase the efficacy of the patient.Nahid mohammadifateme takarlimasoud khodaveisialireza soltanianHamadan University of Medical Sciencesarticlepeer educationself- efficacymultiple sclerosisNursingRT1-120FAمراقبت پرستاری و مامایی ابن سینا, Vol 25, Iss 2, Pp 36-44 (2017)
