Sumario: | Drug use is considered a "social problem" that governments try to regulate through more or less permissive drug policies. France has a rather prohibitionist model, with a repressive side and a health and social side. This second side proposes to support drug users through medico-social structures (CSAPA and CAARUD) which are spread throughout the country. Here we study the integration of these centres into the urban environment of Bordeaux, which has been undergoing a renovation policy for the last twenty years. This change is partly responsible for the tensions that can arise between the city's solidarity with precarious users and the hostility towards them that arises in reaction to the establishment of reception and support centres. |
