Sumario:The first communicative acts with purpose used by children are requests mostly including their various needs or requirements. Requests can be produced in different ways influenced by the communicative roles of participants. The speaker takes into consideration the needs of the audience, the social status of the audience and the context while producing utterances. The aim of this study is to identify requests uttered by Turkish speaking children ranging from 4;0 to 6;0 years of age to confirm the existence of age-specific characteristics. The study was mainly based on participant observation, cluster sampling, content analysis and frequency analysis techniques. There were a total 60 subjects in this study consisting of children aged from 4;0 to 6;0 and 20 samples per age.
