Sumario:The aim is to understand the differing levels of new technology of information and communication adoption amongst lectures who took part of a project of applying new technologies to teaching and learning practices. It also aims at identifying the major factors influencing the differing levels of technology adoption. Technology adoption promptness was defined by means of three constructors: work conclusion rate, work experimentation and intention to apply to teaching activities. Independent variables were based on the Innovation Diffusion Theory (Rogers, 2003) and others. Descriptive statistics, contingency tables and Pearson chi-square applied. The results suggested that the constructors work experimentation and intention to apply to teaching activities were more adequately explained by the independent variables. Amongst those, personal attributes are the most relevant influencing factors, followed by perceived advantages and interpersonal influences.
