Sumario: | This study regarding “Classroom and branch teachers’ evaluations in terms of democratic behaviour in 5th grade classes. The Research has been applied with 193 5th grade students studying in Yenimahalle Primary School, Gaziosmanpaşa Province, in İstanbul. "Democratic Behavior Scale of Classroom Teacher” is used as a means of data collection. The views of classroom teachers and branch teachers who teach in 5th grades on democratic behaviour have been evaluated on the basis of student gender, teacher gender, the classroom population, level of the class and teacher’s area of teaching. The findings are as follows; The views of 5th grade students about their classroom teachers on democratic behaviour differs according to “classroom population” and “gender of student” variables but does not differs according to “gender of teacher”. The views of 5th grade students about their branch teachers on democratic behaviour differ significantly according to “classroom population” and “gender of student” variables. But the views of 5th grade students about their teachers on democratic behaviour differs significantly according to “the status of being classroom teacher or branch teacher” variable. The 5th grade branch teachers are thought to be more democratic in comparasion to classroom teachers. |
