Sumario:The article deals with the contribution of the Russian Orthodox Church to the victory in the Great Patriotic War and with the patriotic position of the hierarchy of the ROC, shown in the declarations and appeals to the congregation from the beginning of the war. The author describes the attitude of the Orthodox to the Nazis in the occupied territory and the complexity of the phenomenon of the Pskov Orthodox mission. The article reveals the theme of the Church-state relations during the war: the curtailing of the persecution of the Church, the legalization of Church administration, a partial revival of the Church life under strict government control.
