It also examines the extent to which Islamic economics has gained acceptance in the minds of ordinary Muslims and in the practices of Muslim states. This review is intended to provide a roadmap for the future development of the discipline. In the spirit of constructive critical thinking it also provides a useful critique of the many failures of the institutions and limits of the discourse.
